About our group |
|
Our group meets monthly at various venues throughout its’ area, the venues often being at members' premises, although its’ main site is The Shirehall, Shrewsbury. Speakers are invited in accordance with members' interests and wishes. Visits to exhibitions and other outside events are encouraged with the Group subsidising the transport costs as necessary. A representative from HSE tries to attend our meetings as does a Fire Officer; they are there to offer advice, not to witch-hunt, and this allows discussion about various points of interest to businesses on neutral territory. We hold an "open forum" at the end of each meeting to allow members to share their problems and assist each other. With the agreement of the Chief Fire Officer for Powys we are actively encouraging recruitment in north Powys, particularly the Welshpool and Newtown areas. Membership is open to all persons who have responsibility for or are interested in Health & Safety in the workplace.
